Mutiilation - Sorrow Galaxies

New Mutiilation opus, this time with a human drummer! My favorite black metal album of the year, this is light years ahead of disney metal band Alcest.

Profanatica - Profanatitas De Domonatia

Fantastic black metal from the US, though I won't call them USBM so that they can fall under such a generic umbrella. Profanatica's sound is somewhat like slow crushing droning black metal, with the energy of death metal. Ritualistic, beautiful, and above all, hateful, this will be in my top ten of the year for sure.

27

27... I could not say they were pop, in the same way I can not say they're trip-hop, or indie, but they do borrow elements from each of those genres to make something special of their own, they have a very nice easy smooth sound, though they have random inserts from other genres, such as death metal, post-rock, and others. Worth checking out if you like to hear something original without being gimmicky.

Albums included:
  • Animal Life
  • Let The Light In
  • Songs From The Edge Of The Wing

Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust

A nice progressive rock outfit that covers horror movie songs and has heavy mellotron use. Not much else to say, other than they're one of my favorite prog bands.

Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound

This to me, so far, is the album of the year. Everything in it is perfect, the productions are amazing, the songs are fun, and the music is brilliantly written. Steve Albini is not only a genius producer, but he's also a genius musician.

NON - God And Beast

Uploaded for a friend.

NON is a very good industrial dark ambient noise martial etc band who's music is very cynical and misanthropic. Boyd Rice is quite the character, I must say, but he makes some damn good tunes.

The Meteors - Hymns For The Hellbound

For me, this album will be a serious contender for the highly overused phrase "album of the year". I don't know what albums will be released later this year, but anyone who listens to this should know it will be hard to beat.

The Meteors are psychobilly, in fact, they claim to be the only true psychobilly band. I don't know about that, but they are certainly the top of their genre. Psychobilly is the fusion of rockabilly and punk, with horror/exploitation/sleaze lyrics, and it is currently my favorite genre of music.

This album is really worth getting (I would not have uploaded it if it was not), and if you've never heard psychobilly, it should be a nice way to get into the genre.

Satan - Court In The Act

This is my favorite NWOBHM album by far, and here's why. The musicianship is amazing, and not only that, but the song writing is way above normal, every song on here is perfect. Interesting side-note, their guitarist taught Andy Sneap of Sabbat how to play guitar. Good shit.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - In Glorious Times

I uploaded this album for a wonderful Canadian I know, and decided to post it here as well. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are a band that use a style long forgotten by modern music. Theatrical, and not in the shitty broadway sense, but in the sense where a bunch of artists, singers, puppet makers, painters, and other thespians are living together, then going on stage every night and singing and banging on things and creating wonderful magic. There are not many groups like that anymore, and to me, that's a shame. If you love experimental music, you're sure to love the band.

The KLF - Chill Out

A couple people wanted this, so I'll post it here.

Chill Out is a very strange album, it's very soothing psychedelic music that mainly uses samples to create the music, but it's very dream like, surreal, and overall very enjoyable. The perfect album to come down from a trip with.

Shellac

Shellac is a project of Steve Albini, the genius producer who mixed such albums as Pixies - Surfer Rosa, and he played in the landmark band Big Black, and Rapeman (who's members went on to form The Jesus Lizard). Shellac could be described as many things, but I'd call them technical post-punk with a bit of noise rock. Good stuff. These albums in the link are all my rips, so they're high quality. Enjoy!

Included:
Live At Action Park
Terraform
1000 Hurts

Waltari - Release Date

Waltari is a strange band for me, for this reason. I saw their album on a site, and it said they were "prog metal with various influences", which sparked my interest. I went on their myspace and started to listen to their song "Sex in the Biergarten", which made me recoil in disgust. I thought to my self, "How could metal archives call this band prog metal? This band sounds like a Korn rip off." But just as I was thinking that, the song really came in. I was floored, I downloaded their latest disc, Release Date, and listened to it over and over for about a week. It was a total shock to me, and I'm really glad I made the choice to check them out, and I hope you readers do the same.

Triarii - Piece Heroique

More industrial?
Yes, that's right, more.
Why?
Because I like it.

Triarii are martial industrial, and their sound is extremely epic and full of grandeur. This will be, without a doubt, my favorite industrial album of the year. This is a lot coming from me, since I'm a huge fan of the genre.

Death In June

So I uploaded some Death In June albums for a friend, and thought I might as well post them here for you slow people who have not gotten them yet. Death In June is neo-folk, fantastic neo-folk. What might that be? Neo-folk is a mix between industrial and folk music. Simple enough, right? Anyways, they're really great and worth a listen.

Comes with Rose Clouds For Holocaust and The Wall Of Sacrifice

The Fucking Champs

Yes, at long last, I update with a new upload, and what an upload it is. The Fucking Champs are an amazing instrumental heavy metal band, with two rhythm guitars and a drummer, and that's it. Right down to the basics. There are a lot of nice, catchy, and crunchy riffs in every song, and there is never any wankery. Also, their (ex) guitarist used to play in the seminal US black metal band Weakling. I've included four of their albums here, so I had to break it up into two parts.

Lack Of Updates

My internet makes it hard for me to upload things, but I'll try to up something today. In the mean time, here is a video that amused me.

King Travolta - Kill Fuck Metal

King Travolta, not a name most of you are familiar with, but hopefully that will change soon. Despite their silly name and silly album cover, they are an *amazing* sludge band, and write some of the heaviest riffs I've ever heard. Not only that, but the band is made up of mostly guests, from bands like Abdullah, Alabama Thunderpussy, Bongzilla, Meatjack, Mugwart, and Ultralord. Any fan of sludge or stoner metal should do them selves a favor and check out this album. Remember, if you like the album, buy the damn thing!

Goblin - Suspiria

Goblin are an amazing prog rock band from the grand land of Italy, using a fantastic combination of synths and groovy bass lines. Not only is Suspiria my favorite soundtrack, but it's also my favorite prog rock album. Moody, atmospheric, and fun, a must have for any fan of progressive music. Remember, if you like the album, buy the damn thing!

O.L.D. - Lo Flux Tube

What do you get when you take the pounding beats of martial industrial, bizarre metal, and the scores of John Carpenter? Probably Lo Flux Tube, O.L.D.'s seminal work that put their joke grindcore past behind them and established them selves as serious musicians. This is not an easy album to sit through, but it's an incredibly rewarding one. John Zorn (Naked City, Painkiller) does a guest sax solo here as well. Remember, if you like the album, buy the damn thing!

Welcome

This will be my upload blog, where I may or may not update all the time. Hopefully someone will care enough to check it out.

My blog's name comes from surrealist films such as David Lynch's Eraserhead or Tetsuo The Iron Man. Also, I chose not to have the black blog like everyone else. Don't like it? Piss off.
